Reflecting on my journey as a real estate broker for over two decades, I adhere to a set of guiding principles. One such principle is drawn from the Bhagavad Gita, emphasizing the importance of performing actions without attachment to personal gain. “If one performs prescribed action because it must be done, relinquishing attachment and the fruit, his relinquishment is a lucid act”. By prioritizing my clients’ needs over my own material or psychological rewards, I ensure that my actions are driven by genuine service rather than self-interest. This commitment to selfless action aligns with the Gita’s assertion, flowing eloquently in the text: “an agent called pure has no attachment, is resolute and energetic, unchanged in failure and success”.

Another guiding principle stems from the teachings of Mark, underscoring the value of service over self-serving motives. “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve”. Constantly evaluating my actions, I ask whether they serve the needs of my clients or merely fulfill my own desires for recognition or validation. This introspection ensures that my clients’ interests always take precedence, embodying the spirit of humility and service exemplified in the passage from Luke 22:27.
